Many people have one image and one image only in mind when they hear the words, "Rosie the Riveter." You know, the lady in the blue shirt with the red bandanna? But most people in the 1940s never saw that image!

If people in the forties didn't think of Rosie the Riveter as that iconic image, what did they think of? Do a little research and find out. How does this change your perception of the character? Locate and share an alternative image of the Rosie the Riveter character, whether it's an illustration or a photograph. Try not to post the same picture as any of your classmates. Why did you choose this image? Explain your thoughts in detail in an original post of at least 200 words.

Answer:

Rosie the Riveter came to be a symbol of all women working in the war industries during World War II. After the release of the song inspired by Rosalind, the image of Rosie the Riveter became further cemented in the public imagination in large part due to the circulation of illustrations and propaganda
