Is 3(x + 2y) and 3x + 2y equivalent? yes or no, And how it is?

no

Explanation:

because when you distribute 3(x + 2y) it will be 3x+6y . you multiply the number that's outside with the numbers that are inside the parenthesis. so 3x+6y is not equivalent to 3x+2y
