It’s only logical to say it happens because parents are scared a child would fail and after going through what they’ve been through every parent doesn’t want their child to struggle so they’ll always show the child or put him or her on an easier path of life and one thing they don’t know is that “Hard times builds strong men, Soft men builds hard times” many children falling in the occupation of their parents has just 20% chance of surviving with the occupation while starting a whole new adventure for themselves. The lucky ones would fall in love with the occupation and there’s another 25% chance of them surviving and so they’ve got 45% chance of surviving and it implies hard work, patience, consistency and Intelligence.

Example: Let’s look at this from the perspective of an average parent. Been through struggles of life and finished paying off college loans and fortunately being able to own a BIG restaurant and also running the business successfully. I’d say everyone would assume her son/daughter would take over someday right? And that’s how it is in every children that falls in their parents occupation. 80% doesn’t choose, It chooses them so I think that’s all.

Children can be inspired by their parents and relatives that they grow up around and learn what they are used to. Their parents might come home from work and talk about their day. This could spark an interest in the child's mind.

Example:

For example, if my father is a professional football player, teaches me how to pass the footy, and teaches me how to tackle, I would be inspired to do the same with my future career. Especially if it runs in the family and I am the perfect build for the sport.
