Answer:

Here is the answer from EDGE 2021

Onate's nephew, Juan de Zaldivar to help him explore New Mexico. Zaldivar stopped at the Acoma “sky” pueblo where he and his group were lured to the top of the mesa, then attacked. A few men escaped and told Onate, who believed he had to retaliate swiftly and completely. Onate's soldiers fired on Acoma, scaled the cliffs with guns, and a fierce battle ensued. More than 100 people were killed and the rest were taken prisoner and put on trial. At the trial, every person was found guilty. Men lost a foot and men and women were sent to a life of slavery.
