Answer:

We know that 8 teams of students shared 47 pizzas.

The only thing we can assume is that the 47 pizzas where divided evenly between the teams, so the number of pizzas that each team gets is equal to the quotient between 47 and 8, or:

47/8 = 5.875

But this is not a whole number, and this happens because 47 is not a multiple of 8.

Then we can do:

47 = 40 + 7

And 40 is a multiple of 8.

40/8 = 5

Then each team got 5 whole pizzas, and there are 7 pizzas left.

Now, we can assume that each pizza has 8 slices.

Then there are left 7*8 = 56 slices.

And when we divide those by the number of teams, we have:

56 /8 = 7

So each team gets 7 slices from the remainder pizzas.

Then we can conclude that each team gets 5 whole pizzas and 7 slices.
