Words: $5 per game plus $3 for shoe rental equals $2 per game plus $9 per shoe rental.

Variable: Let g represent the number of games he would need to bowl to pay an equal amount at each bowling alley.

Equation: 5g+3=2g+9
.

5g +3 = 2g + 9

5-2g +3 = 2g-2g + 9

3g +3 = 9

3g +3 -3 = 9 - 3

3g/3 = 6/3

g = 2

Mr. Bradley would need to play 2 games at each bowling alley for the cost to be the same.
