use slope intercept form to find the x intercept

y = Mx +b

Explanation:

x+4y=7

4y= -x+7

y= -1/4x +7/4

so when this line is on the x intercept.. then y =0 soooo plug in zero for y and solve

0= -1/4x + 7/4

-7/4 = -1/4x

7 = x
