2 X 6 ÷ 2 + 1 answer is supposed to be 4 but I don't know how to get to it​

  1. 2 + 1 = 3
  2. Plug 3 in: 2 × 6 ÷ 3
  3. 6 ÷ 3 = 2
  4. Plug 2 in: 2 × 2 = 4

*This is not supposed to be the way to solve it. You should never start with addition, but for this expression, they want you to.*
