Explanation:

2/3p-7=1/4p+12

12(2/3p-7)=12(1/4p+12)

8p-84=3p+144

5p-84=144

5p=228

p=228/5

Check:

2/3(228/5)-7=1/4(228/5)+12

30.4-7=11.4+12

23.4=23.4
