Answer:

Predators eat the prey and the prey try their best to adopt to the hunting methods of the predators. Predators try their best to figure out habits of their prey which makes it easier to eat them. Food chains and food webs demonstrate this feeding relationship between organisms in an ecosystem. An example of this feeding relationship is a cat eating a bird. On a food chain, there would be an arrow pointing toward the cat. This shows that the bird's "energy" is being transferred to the cat, showing the feeding relationship between the bird and cat.

Hope this helps!

If the prey is successful and eludes its predator, the predator must expend precious energy to continue the hunt elsewhere. Predators can also be prey, depending on what part of the food chain you are looking at. For example, a trout acts as a predator when it eats insects, but it is prey when it is eaten by a bear.
