There are 35 red beads on the bracelet. The number of green beads on the bracelet is 42. Kaleb says that means the ratio of the number of red beads to the number of green beads is 5: 7. Is Kaleb correct? Explain why or why not. (Use complete sentences!)

Ratios are the same as percentages or fractions. In this case there are 35 red beads for every 42 green beads on the bracelet. This means the ratio would be
(35)/(42) , which when put divided is 0.833 or 83.3%. Kaleb is stating that the ratio is 5:7 which would basically be
(5)/(7) which when divided is 0.71 or 71%. Therefore, since these percentages are different we can go ahead and say that Kaleb is not correct.
