It is defined as the transfer and exchange of plants, animals, ideas, resources, human populations, cultures and even the deadly diseases between America and the Old World i.e. Europe, Asia and Africa in the 15th centuries.

The positive effects of the Columbian Exchange are :

1. Spread of ideas and cultures between the two worlds which made them culturally diverse as they are now.
