Answer: y = 100x + 1300

Explanation: Linear Equation is an equation whose graphic produces a line. It is of the form y = mx + B, in which m and B are real numbers.

The term m is also the slope or gradient of the equation, i.e., it shows the steepness of the line. While B is y-intercept, i.e., it is the point where the line touches the y-axis.

The slope is determined by:

m=(y-y_(0))/(x-x_(0))

m=(3000-1800)/(17-5)

m = 100

For the linear equation, use:

y-y_(1)=m(x-x_(1))

and point (5,1800):

y-1800=100(x-5)

y=100x-500+1800

y=100x+1300

The linear equation of daily energy requirement for males is
y=100x+1300.
