A Major League Baseball stadium sells three types of tickets. Reserved tickets are sold for $20 each, field-level tickets are sold for $50 each, and box seat tickets are sold for $100 each. You purchase 10 total tickets for $370. You have twice as many reserved tickets as field-level tickets.

Answer:

There were 6 reserved tickets, 3 field level tickets and 1 box seat tickets

Explanation:

Let x represent the number of reserved tickets, y represent the number of field level tickets and z represent the number of box seat tickets.

Given that 10 total tickets were bought for $370, hence this can be represented by the equation:

20x + 50y + 100z = 370 (1)

x + y + z = 10 (2)

Also there was twice as many reserved tickets as field-level tickets. This can be represented by the equation:

x = 2y

x - 2y = 0 (3)

solving equations 1, 2, and 3 simultaneously gives:

x = 6, y = 3 and z = 1

There were 6 reserved tickets, 3 field level tickets and 1 box seat tickets
