Ocean currents help to distribute heat energy across the globe. (a) Where does the Gulf Stream current originate and (b) what areas of land have warmer climates from this warm ocean water?


So you do NOT have to answer part a, I just copy and pasted that on there (by the way the answer to part A is Florida)

I'm not sure if it helps or not but I have also given you 2 images of a map that I think the teacher wants us to base the answer off of.

a) The Gulf Stream originates at the tip of Florida and follows the eastern coastlines of the United States and Newfoundland before crossing the Atlantic Ocean.

b) The Gulf Stream affects the climate of the land masses it passes by, including the coast of northern Europe and other coasts that border the Atlantic Ocean.

Eastern Coast of the US, Western coast of Europe and upwards to the polar region

Step-by-step explanation:

The two images explain clearly that the currents help contribute to warm water, and shown in the second infographic, it says that it brings that water towards the areas listed above. Even without that second picture, we can conclude that it at least goes around north Eastern coast of the US and West Europe as seen by the Gulf Stream current's projection based on arrows.
