Answer:

width is 12.5 inches

length is 37.5 inches

Explanation:

x is width, 3x is length,

  1. Double each and make it equal to 100, ie. 2x+6x=100
  2. Divide everything by two, x+3x=50
  3. Combine x and 3x, 4x=50
  4. divide broth sides by 4
  5. x = 12.5
  6. Since x is width, width is 12.5
  7. Length is 3x, so 12.5 * 3 is 37.5
