A polynomial, P(x) = x2 + 2x + k has (x – 2) as a factor. What is
the value of k?

Answer:

x-2 =0

x=2

now

putting the x value in p

we have,

p(2) = x2 + 2x +k

= 2×2 +2×2+k

= 4+4+k

= 8+k

so,

Either

8+k =0

k= - 8
