Magar community is one of the indigenous community of Nepal.They reside in different parts of the country like in Kathmandu, Lalitpur, Pokhara, Surkhet, etc. They have their own language also known as magar vasa. Their main festival is maghe sangrati and on this day they wear their traditional clothes, dance, sing their folk songs and eat traditional foods like tilko laddu, sweet potato, etc.
Their traditional dances are maruni, kura, etc. It is also believed that madal; the traditional instrument of Nepal originated from this magar community.
