2y- 16 = 7x + 21

Explanation:

Y= mX+ c

y = (2/7)x + 11/7

m= gradient= 2/7

The perpendicular gradient should be the negative reciprocal of the gradient we have now.

which is : -1÷(2/7) = -7/2

Now for the perpendicular line equation, we have:

  • y = 8
  • x= -3
  • m= 7/2

y - y1 = m ( x - x1 )

y - 8 = 7/2 ( x + 3 )

2y - 16 = 7x + 21
