7x - 12x - 5 = -45 + 15

How do I solve this please provide an explanation ​

Answer:

x = 5 (check steps below)

Explanation:

first off lets combine like terms to make it simple so subtract 7x and 12x which comes out to be -5x and add -45 and 15 on the other side which equals -30 so we end up with

-5x -5 = -30

Now we add 5 onto the other side

-5x = -25

finally we divide by -5 on each side to have x by itself

x = 5

(the negatives cancel each other)
