In a hypothetical example, an earthquake generated tidal wave destroys

all habitable land one mile in from the coast. All animals within one mile of
the seashore are killed during the event. Is this an example of natural
selection that will result in adaptation, or not? And why?

i don’t think it’s considered natural selection because it’s a major dramatic event that more than likely killed everything in its way. i don’t think it will result in adaptation
