The three branches of US government all have ways to keep the other branches in check, this in turn balances out the lawmaking process keeping it fair. This system is known as checks and balances.

The branches all check and balance the powers of one another. Its more fair because it makes sure that no branch is passing a law that seems to abuse the rights of the people.
