Ways to get rid of anxiety and also should i tell my parents about my anxiety if so how?

With anxiety, it's always beneficial to have coping mechanisms for when you really get stressed out. Some good ones are:

1) Progressive Muscle Relaxation

2) Finger Maze (Trace the outline of your hand with your finger)

3) Identifying Automatic Negative Thoughts, and then doing something about it (saying, "What's the worse that could happen?" "I'll be alright, I just need to get under control.")

4) 5-4-3-2-1 Activity (Find 5 things you can see, 4 you can touch, 3 you can hear, 2 you can smell, and 1 you can taste)

5) Exposure (Identify big causes of anxiety and then expose yourself to small doses of a reduced cause along the same lines. Remember to treat yourself after you're done!)

About your parents, if you feel that they'd be supportive, be straight up. Tell them that you're expressing symptoms of anxiety and that you suspect you have it. They'll need to take it from there.

Ways to get rid of anxiety:

1. Take a time out, if something is bothering you, stop doing it for a bit. Then come back with a clear head!

2. Don't skip any meals, stay healthy, get enough sleep, exercise, etc. If your body isn't functioning well, your brain won't either.

3. Stop drinking alcohol or caffeine (if you do).

4. Get rid of the thing that is causing you anxiety? (If it is something like an abusive partner, or other things.)

There are a thousand more strategies you can use to get rid of your anxiety, it just takes 1 quick G0OGLE search : ).

Telling your parents about the anxiety may be hard, but it would be the best thing to do. Either that, or seek help online.

To break it out to your parents about your problems, take it slowly.
