Imitation Exercise Essay: Select one of the previously read passages from your text to copy and then write a passage of your own imitating the voice, rhetorical style, and vocabulary of the author. As you write, remember that essays will be graded with a six-point rubric based on the AP* nine-point scale. High-scoring essays will demonstrate that the writer considered the prompt carefully and responded to it insightfully with strong supporting evidence. These essays will also exhibit stylistic sophistication, including purposeful organization, precise diction, and engaging syntax. A talk to Teachers

We are living threw a vary dangerous time . Everyone in this moment is aware of that one way or another . Society today is deeply menaced from within .Those who deal with the hearts and minds of young people in todays society must be prepared to attempt to correct so many generations of cruelty and wrong doings . Not only in the classroom but in the outside world to . You will meet the most brutal and the most determined resistance , There is no point in pretending that it will not happen because it will .

Though I am not a teacher my self I am still speaking to all school teachers . It seems that if I were to give birth to a child it would be my duty to make sure that the child is civilized and acts in a well behaved manor. People are vary social which means that they can not live without a society . A society depends on certain things that people seem to take for granted and seem to ignore . Now the crucial paradox which shows that boys and girls who are born during a certain time period is educated threw a social framework and is tought to act like the rest of society .The paradox of education is that say a girl was born when slavery was going on. she wasn’t born to be a racist or born to hate the black man , she was taught that . The purpose of education is to crate a person who can look at the world and look at him self and be able to make his own decisions .

A SUMMARY OF THE PASSAGE A TALK TO TEACHERS

James Baldwin’s essay, ”A Talk to Teachers”(1963), argues that in order to meaningfully address the problem of racism in America students have to gain a greater consciousness and fight for equality. Baldwin backs this claim up with descriptions of his personal experience as well as evidence from history. Baldwin’s purpose is to inform the reader about the system in America that works against or works to opress people of color in order to create a system of equality. Given the title and his references to being in the classroom, Baldwin is writing to teachers, to the young people, students, and parents who need to be create their own identity.
