question 1. A card is pulled from a standard deck of cards. Find the probability of getting a 2 or King.

question 2. A 6-sided number cube is rolled. Find the Probability of NOT getting a 2 or 5.

Explanation:

question 1) there are 52 cards in a standard deck. Of those 52 cards there are 4 of each card (e.i 4 aces, 4 kings, 4 tens, etc.). So, 4 of 52 cards are 2s and 4 of 52 cards are Kings. 4 + 4 is 8, so the probability of getting a 2 or a King is 8/52.

question 2) There are 6 numbers on a 6-sided number cube-- 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6. The numbers 2 and 5 can be crossed out because we want to find the probability of NOT getting a 2 or 5. This leaves you with the numbers 1, 3, 4, and 6. That is 4 of 6 numbers. Therefore the probability of NOT getting a 2 or 5 is 4/6. We can simplify 4/6 to 2/3.
