Answer: It can reflect on the long-term impact of the event.

Step-by-step explanation:

An article that is written so long after an event happened, is able to show the long term effects of the event because it would be able to include events that happened in the 50 years after the event in question has happened.

An article written only a year afterwards however, will be unable to talk about the long term impact of the event and will be more focused on the relatively immediate impacts of the event.

For instance, an article about the Civil Rights Act written in 1965 would be unable to talk about the long term impact of the Act as opposed to an article written in 2014 that will show such for instance how Southern States fought the Act.
