Total weight of jelly beans initially

  • 54oz

Each bag contains

  • 6.75oz

So the equation should be

  • Bags=54/6.75

Or

  • B=54/6.75

If we solve we get total bags as 8

Answer:

\sf y=(54)/(6.75) or
\sf y=54 / 6.75

(where y is the number of bags made)

Explanation:

If Rowan bought a 54 oz bag of jelly beans and divided them into bags that each contained 6.75 oz, to find how many bags were made, divide the total weight of jelly beans by the weight of each bag.

⇒ Number of bags = Total weight ÷ bag weight

= 54 ÷ 6.75

= 8

Therefore, Rowen made 8 bags.
