One rock can become many different types of metamorphic rock depending on the heat, temperature, and fluid conditions during metamorphosis. Give some examples of rocks that would be formed through the process depicted in the figure above. Some examples of foliated metamorphic rock are slate and gneiss. There are three ways that metamorphic rocks can form. The three types of metamorphism are Contact, Regional, and Dynamic metamorphism. Contact Metamorphism occurs when magma comes in contact with an already existing body of rock.
