they were trading partners; the french also tended to treat the natives much better than the english, but since the english had better trading deals, the natives often went to them. in the frencg and indian war, the french alongside with natives fought against the english. hope this kinda helped:)

The French had a friendly relationship with the Native Americans making them their buisness partners. The French were particularly close to the Huron tribe who were enemies of the Iroquois. The French also brought many diseases killing many Native Americans.
