Athena and Poseidon might represent a fight for power. The general story is that when Athena and Poseidon fought to be the patron god of Athens, the people chose Athena's gift of olive trees over Poseidon's gift of horses. When Poseidon realized this he was furious, and in fact, sided against Athens during the Trojan war.
