Select the correct verb. Then, find the direct object. If there is no direct object, select none.

Where did you (Lay/Lie) the cups? Lay or lie???

tl;dr: "Where did you lay the cups?"

Hello!

In the sentence "Where did you (Lay/Lie) the cups?", the verb lay will best fit the sentence.

As for finding the direct object, the direct object in the sentence is cups. This is because when the sentence says lay, it is referring to the cups.

Lay is the correct answer as it means ‘to put something down’ where as ‘lie’ is to tell the untruth, I believe.

I hope this helped
