Answer:

x=1.316 and x=-5.316

Explanation:

Expand the the x+2= x^2 +4x+4

add 5 to 4 bc they in the same group, then subtract 16 from the other side so it equal to zero.

It should be x^2+4x+9-16=0 then do combine 9-16 which equals 7.

Put x^2+4x-7 into the quadratic formulas
\frac{-4+/-\sqrt{4^(2*1*(-7)) } }{2*1} (tried my best).

When the sq root is + its 1.316 when sq root is - is -5.316.
