Write a poem that contains the following elements:

• One of the forms studied (sonnet, free verse, lyric, narrative)
• At least one of these poetic devices: first-person point of view, rhyme, repetition, or meter
• Two or more uses of figurative language: metaphor, simile, personification, alliteration, hyperbole, allusion

Ok here's one that's pretty deep so your teacher should like it:

I look into the mirror,

But do not recognize who I see.

I look into the mirror and think

"That is not me."

I stare into my eyes,

Cold, grey and empty,

That is not me.

I look to my mouth,

Perfectly formed and shaped,

Colored in red,

That is not me.

I search for my now invisible freckles,

Hiding beneath layers of an unnatural substance.

That is not me.

I stare at my reflection,

Myself,

Shocked at what I see.

I now wear low-cut dresses,

Designer necklaces,

And make-up.

"This cannot me."
