2. Let x equal the number of hours a job takes , then the first house painting company will charge 350+15x , the second house painting will charge 275 +20x. If the two companies charge the same amount , we will have;


350 +15x = 275+20x\\\\350 - 275 = 20x - 15x\\\\75 = 5x\\\\(75)/(5) = (5x)/(5) \\\\15 = x\\\\x = 15\:hours
