Andy is scuba diving. He starts at sea level and then descends 10 feet in 212 minutes. How would you represent Andy's descent as a unit rate? Express your answer as an integer.F he continues at this rate, where will Andy be in relation to sea level after 6 minutes?

Given :

Andy is scuba diving. He starts at sea level and then descends 10 feet in 212 minutes.

To Find :

Andy's descent as a unit rate.

Solution :

Descent as a unit rate , R is distance covered per unit time :

So,

R = (10)/(212)\ ft/s\\\\R =0.047 \ ft/s

Now, distance covered in 6 minutes.

d = 0.047* 6\\\\d = 0.282\ ft

Distance from sea level , D = 212 + 0.282 = 212.282 feet.

Hence, this is the required solution.
