Tessa and marisol run in a 100 meter race. Tessa run at an average speed of 8.1 meters per second. Five seconds after the race, she is 3.5 meters ahead of marisol. To the nearest hundredth of a second, how long will it take Marisol to run the entire race if she does not slow down.

Mathematically, distance = speed * time

At 5 seconds, distance covered by her will be;

5 * 8.1 = 40.5 meters

the distance covered by Marisol in the same 5 seconds will be 40.5-3.5 = 37 meters
