Answer:

compound inequality.. hmmm sounds like a double current issue huh... but since it's only math , it's much easier.. :) compound means more than one.. huh.. and inequality means something not equal huh.. so we want 2 or more of somethings that are less than.. or maybe more than too.. huh.. one other important subtlety.. the round dots on the graph are also important information. closed dots means include the point that the line stops on and open dots mean don't include that point that the line stops on.. hmmm didn't we just say not equal to ? soooo if there is a closed dot.. then it could be equal to , huh.. to ask your teacher.. why is this called an inequality if it could be equal? hmmm something suspicious is going on here. back to math :)

Explanation:

U= union .. just a fancy math jargon term for include.. :/

9) (- ∞,-3 ] ∪ (2,∞) in inequality form -∞ < x ≤ -3 ∪ 2 < x < ∞

notice the different symbol around the -3 b/c it's included and also the less than or equal to, sign in the inequality

next)

(-1,2) in inequality form -1<x<2
