You calculate that it would take a piece of paper 0.5 seconds to fall from your

hand to the ground if there were no air resistance. In reality, how long will it
take the paper to reach the ground?

Answer:

More than 0.5 seconds.

Step-by-step explanation:

Air resistance is an opposing force that slows objects down. Thus, we can confidently decide that air resistance would increase the time we calculated initially. The actual time would have to be more than 0.5 seconds. :)

It will take a lot longer to reach the ground because the air resistance causes terminal velocity (and also the paper will move from side to side rather than falling straight down)
