rock and roll pushed the boundaries of the music industry as well as society in the 1950s. before this, music was mostly tame and easy to digest. rock and roll was loud and rebellious. it’s for this reason that most parents in the 1950s HATED rock and roll music. it had a huge influence on their children and was seen as “wild” and “dangerous.” when you listen to rock and roll now, it’s not nearly as inappropriate as say, today’s rap music. it was overall a huge change in the music world and was even a major part of the civil rights music (or associated with it).
