3x -8 feet

Explanation:

The perimeter is found by adding all the side lengths, but since this is a square, all you have to do to find the perimeter is multiply one side length by 4. In this case, we already have the perimeter so we can just work backward. Instead of multiplying, we have to use the inverse operation since we are working backward which is division. (12x - 32) / 4 is 3x - 8. This is as far as we can simplify because these are two different units and therefore the answer is 3x-8 feet
