Answer:

y=2x+7

Explanation:

since the parallel line's equation is asked the gradient will be same , so it would be y=2x ,

Now to find the intercept;

the gradient of the line of which we are finding the equation is 2, so when tan function of the line is considered it becomes as 2= (x-1)/3 where x is the intercept , from that we can find x as 7

therefore the equation is y = 2x +7.

Answer:

y = 2x - 5

Explanation:

Parallel lines have same slope.

y = 2x - 1

So, m = 2 , and the line passes through (1 , -3)

Equation: y - y₁ = m (x - x₁)

y - [-3] = 2 (x - 1)

y + 3 = 2x - 2

y = 2x - 2 -3

y = 2x - 5
