ASAP!!!!!!!!!!

A student took 5 test in a quarter 3. His average was a 88. Four of his test scores were 87, 94, 86, and 100. What was his last test score? ( statistics) ( please write down or type it out! ) ty

88 = (( 87 + 94 + 86 + 100 + X ))/(5)

Add all the values in the parentheses together to get:


88 = (367 + X)/(5)

You want to remove the 5 next, so you multiply both sides by 5.


5 * 88 = (367 + x)/(5) *5


88 * 5 = 440

You should get:


440 = 367 + x

The last step is to subtract both sides by 367:


440 - 367 = 73


X = 73
