If complaints are about majorities in big cities like Los Angeles and New York dominating the vote, then this system would help remove this sort of "tyranny of the majority". That is being complained about. If smaller states receive more of a voice, they will stop complaining about this problem. People in big cities would still have a lot of voice anyway with their American Superstar points for their state. It is more of a competition on a state level to cast all of the votes, so your vote can make much more of a difference. This voting system would definitely eradicate the complaints this TV show has been getting.
