What is the difference between were and where

Where is used to describe a location. Were is used to describe something in the past tense

“Were” would be used in sentences like “The girls were having fun” whilst “where” would be asking a question. For example, “Where is the nearest train station”. Hope this helps and have a nice wonderful day
