I need help with showing my work on converting 3 7/8​

The answer is 31/8

3 is a whole number, right?

So we do:

8/8 + 8/8 + 8/8 + 7/8

We have 8/8 three times cuz we have 3 as the *whole* number

= 8 + 8 + 8 + 7= 31
Add the denominator = 31/8
