*if ur good at word problems please help me!!!

A membership to gym S cost $42 plus $10 per visit. A membership at gym R costs $20 plus $12 per visit.

1. Write an equation that will represent memberships for both gym S and gym R.

2. Use your equations to solve for the number of visits, v, it will take for the memberships from gym S and gym R to cost the same amount? What is the cost?

Answer:

Gym S: 10x + 42

Gym R: 12x + 20

10×3+42=72

12×5+12=72

Explanation:

They will both be the same price on the

third visit to gym S

and the fifth visit to gym R
