The number of miles that can be driven is proportional to the number gallons of gas. The graph of the equation y = 31x shows this relationship. Explain why the ordered pair (0, 0) is on this graph.

A. When the tank is full, 0 miles can be driven.
B. When 0 miles are driven, there is no gas used.
C. When there is no gas in the tank, 0 miles can be driven.
D. When the tank is full, the driver does not have to worry about how much gas is used.

Answer:

The correct answer: C

When there is no gas in the tank, 0 miles can be driven.

Explanation:

Well first off, I put in the answer B my first go and that was incorrect. And thinking back to my first response; I say C could actually be possible. 0 miles can be driven when there is no gas in the tank. Your already at 0 miles driven. If you don't use your car, depending on miles, you haven't drove at all. So by miles, you would have driven 0 miles since your not driving your car, idk if this makes much sense but I hope it does. Tell me if I am wrong! Have a great day!
