Consider the function f(x)=5x-2. Evaluate the function for the following Domain={-2, -1, 0,

1, 2}. Which of the following is the corresponding RANGE? (HINT: plug in the given numbers
for x and solve for y values!)
O (-12,-5, -2, 3, 8}
O {5, -2}
O (-2,-1,0, 1, 2}
O {-12, -7, -2, 3, 8}

Answer:

Third bullet point {-12,-7,-2,3,8}

Explanation:

f(x)=5x-2

where the domain's are {-2,-1,0,1,2}

domain means the value of x in the equation and f(x) means the range.

so we just simply put the domains in the equation for example for -2

f(x)=5x-2

we put x=-2

f(-2)=5(-2)-2\\f(-2)=-10-2\\f(-2)=-12

now we put x=-1

f(-1)=5(-1)-2\\f(-1)=-5-2\\f(-1)=-7

now we put x=0

f(0)=5(0)-2\\f(0)=-2

and so on.
