James buys a shirt and a pair of socks on sale and pays 75% of the original

price. If the price of the shirt before the sale was $24 and he spent a total of $24,
what was the original price of the socks?

Answer: I believe the socks would be $18

Explanation:

75% of 24 is 18. 24-18=6 so the shirt was $6 with the discount. 24-6= 18 so that would leave the socks at $18
