A solution to an equation is basically the value of the variable.

4/5 (x-1/4) = 1/2
= 4x/5 - 4/20 = 1/2
= 16x/20 - 4/20 = 1/2
= 16x/20 = 1/2 + 4/20
= 16x/20 = 10/20 + 4/20
= 16x/20 = 14/20
= 16x = 14/20 x 20
= 16x = 14
= x = 14/16
= x = 7/8

Therefore, the value of x is 7/8.

Answer:

A solution is an answer to a problem.

x= 7/8

Explanation:

Step 1: Simplify both sides of the equation.

4/5x + (-1/5) = 1/2

Step 2: Add 1/5 to both sides.

4/5x = 7/10

Step 3: Multiply both sides by 5/4.

x= 7/8
